Sphenopalatine Ganglion Block
Headache Treatment

Treatment of Headaches, Migraines and Head and Facial Pain
With Deep Nasal Nerve Block

Do you suffer from chronic headaches? Have you wasted hundreds of dollars on over-the-counter pain relievers? Do you wish there was a simple, effective solution to your pain? With an underutilized pain management therapy called Sphenopalatine Ganglion (SPG) block, Dr. Edderai can control up to 80% of headaches.

Here's how it works:

The SPG, also called the nasal ganglion, is the largest group of nerves outside of the brain. It lies behind the nose and near the throat and is covered by a thin layer of mucous membrane. The SPG plays an important role as a dispatch center for the nervous system. It receives sensory input from the body's other nerve centers, including indirect sensory input from the cervical roots of the neck and a branch of the facial nerve. Although the connection between the two nerve centers is poorly understood, it's feasible to assume that this indirect connection results in "referred" symptoms, meaning that pain in the neck vertebrae can cause symptoms in the head, face, shoulders, and upper back.

Dr. Edderai alleviates headache pain with a simple procedure that has been in use since the 1930's. He applies a small amount of topical anesthetic to the SPG nerve. He does this through the nasal cavity with a cotton-tip applicator, leaving the anesthetic in place for about 45-60 minutes. This blocks the nerve, thereby relieving headache, facial, neck, and back pain.

The process is simple and highly effective, and side effects are generally mild. On rare occasions, patients may experience an allergic reaction to the anesthetic or mild irritation in the nose and throat. When performed by an expert, such as Dr. Edderai, SPG blockage proves a simple method for headache treatment with very few, if any, side effects.

One can only wonder why such a simple, safe, effective solution to headaches has been neglected for so long in the medical industry. Dr. Edderai is proud to offer patients a much-needed alternative to complex and risky procedures and toxic medications.
